Zero Drop New Balance arriving in early January

We are only weeks away from receiving our stocks of some serious new barefoot shoes from New Balance. The current Minimus T10 is a 4mm heel elevation but barefoot enthusiasts have been craving for a New Balance shoe with no heel elevation.

The two new shoes are the New Balance Minimus MT00 and MR00.

New Balance Minimus MT00

This shoe has an off-road sole and is insanely light at 124gm. It has a no-sew inside surface that is ideal for wearing without socks.

The R00 is designed for road use. It has a harder and thinner sole with modest cushioning. The midsole includes a small amount of instep support. It weighs a bit more at 181 gm.

They look great and importantly look like road and trail shoes should look, so they suit conservative runners who do not want to scream out “barefoot runner look at me”.

R00 is going to take me through my first marathon. Light and cushioned!

Just got a pair of Neo Trails today from your shop today. Thanks for the speedy shipment. I will enjoy the shoes a lot this winter. Now hoping for snow more than ever.

  2. Hi Paul, I really cant wait for the MR00. Are you sure that they arrive early January, seems like NB themselves are stating Spring 2012 or March when I check? What colours are you getting in?, the blue and yellow MR00 looks great, hint hint!

      Hi Robbie,
New Balance gave us a ship date of 24/12/11 so we are expecting them any day now. We have stock arriving in green ,white and red. I tried a sample pair on weeks ago and they felt really good.
      Regards
      PAUL

  3. Hi Paul,
Thats good news, I will keep an eye out for them. Just a quick question on fit of the MR00.
I bought the MT10 from your store a few months back in a 8.5 uk, they are marginally too small but have been great nonetheless and I wear them for most runs, seen as you have tries both, are the MR00 similarly sized to the MT10?
    Best Regards.

      Hi Robbie,
I find the strip across the forefoot on the MT10 is a bit tight for many people (including myself). The MR00 does not have this so in my opinion is a more comfortable fit. In terms of sizing they both seem much the same apart from the fact that the forefoot is looser on the MR00.

  4. Thanks Paul, I had the same problem with the rubber strip but only on the right shoe, it caused pain and a pressure point on the joint near my little toe. I cut the rubber strip staright across just above where Vibram is written on the side and it has been excellent ever since. Thanks for the tips on the MR00.
    All the best,
    Robbie

    Hi Paul

Can you give me an idea of when the new New Balance minimus range will be available for sale on your website?

    Many Thanks
    Glenn

Many thanks for that info Paul. One other question for you – have inov8 indicated a release date for the bare-x 180 and will you be stacking them?

    Regards
    Glenn

Hey, I know this post if from a little while ago but can you tell me what happened to the blue version of the shoes? I like that pair the best but it seems that they aren’t producing them? Silly…
I also heard they have a slight amount of cushioning/”fit” on the arch support, can you confirm whether it’s a problem or not?
